As the oldest living female descendant of Daniel & Lizzie Wright, I share with you some memorable moments of my youth. My great uncles, Cotton and Nay, always made our Christmas Day special. On Christmas Eve, my siblings and I would take our stockings and go through the path in the field to their house. We would leave our stockings with them, and on Christmas morning, we would run down to their house to get our stockings. They would be filled with Christmas goodies, such as peanuts, oranges, and raisins on the bunch. Uncle Nay always made his big flat biscuits and fried his country ham for us. Those were great Christmas mornings that I can never forget.

My Baptism: I remember Rev. Tom Johnson baptizing me. I was 7 years old and my sister Julia was 6. We both got baptized on the same day. I can still remember being dipped in the old mud-hole stream, down beyond the cemetery at Peach Grove Baptist Church.

Peach Grove was our family church. I remember how Uncle Nay use to bring his dog in church. The dog would lay in the aisle right next to were Uncle Nay would sit. Nobody would say anything to him. Uncle Nay was bold and often spoke his mind.

Our Wright family has stood strong for many, many years, bonded by love, and at the age of 80, I am "Wright" proud to be the oldest living female descendant of Grandpa Dan and Grandma Lizzie.
